The revelation came during promotional activities for Johnson’s latest dramatic turn in The Smashing Machine, where he portrays MMA fighter Mark Kerr. Johnson shared that he approached his co-star Emily Blunt about the possibility while she was filming the sequel. The 53-year-old actor described his vision for the character as someone fashionable and cool, fitting seamlessly into the high-fashion world that defines the franchise.
Blunt, who reprises her role from the original 2006 film alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, confirmed Johnson’s efforts to secure a spot in the production.
